6 Lessons To Help You Grow Your Business

I’m writing this post from my bed in the Santa Barbara Resort in Curaçao. This is my last night here in Curaçao. I am finally returning home tomorrow after nearly 4 weeks of traveling!
It’s been a life changing experience all together. My journey started in early January in Las Vegas, when I attended the Affiliate Summit. Next, I went to Lakewood, Colorado, to work one on one with a VIP consulting client. For two days we worked laser focused on his business strategy and how to improve his results.

After that, I headed to Miami for a day and sailed on the Marketers Cruise the next day (more information on how you can participate in this cruise with me next year coming soon!!). For 7 days I travelled around the Caribbean, networking and sharing with like-minded Marketers and Entrepreneurs from many different industries. I also got to hang out with Russell Brunson, Dave VanHoose, Mike Filsaime, to name a few.

Back form the Cruise it was time to head to Curaçao for a high end Mastermind. During the last 5 days, myself along with other 6 and 7 figure earners coached a small group of people to help them take their business to the next level.

And now, the time has come to return home!

But I have so much to reflect on, starting with my vision and what is it that I want to build 10 or 20 years from now. I am one of those people that prefers to live in the NOW, but you gotta have a vision. And it’s ok if you don’t have it yet, there’s no rush. Your vision will come to you, and when it does, you’re going to have to focus on it, and ensure that all your life, business and marketing efforts are aligned to your vision. That’s how you succeed.

Now, I learnt so many valuable lessons from spending time with business owners who make millions of dollars, that it’s hard to come up with just a few. Nevertheless, here are 6 lessons I’ve learnt that will help you grow your business.

#1 – Build a Team – I’ve been stubborn about this myself, because sometimes I think I can do it all, but the truth is, I can’t and my growth will be limited if I don’t do this. So this is the first thing on my list, and it should be on yours. Make sure you hire people who are smarter than you, who are driven by challenges, and that will help you take your business to levels beyond your imagination. #2 – Have an Exit Strategy – and this isn’t referred to MLM, or affiliate marketing necessarily, although sure, those companies don’t belong to you and they can fall apart at any moment.  What this means is that the sole purpose of you building a brand and a business is so that you become unnecessary, and are able to sell it and move on to the next thing. I love what I do, but I also love having time for myself and knowing that I can do anything I want with my life. Once you build a business to 6, 7 or 8 figures and beyond, at one point you need to make yourself replaceable, or you might feel stuck and become miserable.

#3 – If you’re not Growing, you’re Dying – This is a lesson I’ve learnt a long time ago so it’s not new, but I got a good reminder here. Sometimes, you have to hear it again and again from other people. So ensure you look at your business, step out, look at it as a whole. Are you growing? In terms of numbers, in terms of projects, in terms of people, and of course, dreams.

#4 – Partner up with the Right People – Joint Ventures are awesome. When you go to events like this, you don’t find a ton of broke people with small dreams. You meet people with huge visions, despite their financial situation, and that can feed your mind and amazing projects can come together! And I’m leaving now with more than one good idea and partnership to implement ! I have a lot of work to do and I’m excited about it!

#5 – Create a System – You can rely on existing systems, but you must have your own. No matter how automated the business you’re in is, you need to create your own automation system, that works for you, even while you’re not there.

#6 – FOCUS – This is hard when you multi-task too much. In fact, multitasking isn’t good for our brain. Some people brag about their multitasking skills, but the truth is, those who are able to focus on one thing, are the ones who end up succeeding. So find one strategy, one method, master it, automate it, and then, move on to the next one.
